Step-by-Step: Repairing Rust Spots with glassSTEEL UV Patch

Step 1: Remove Loose Rust

Use an angle grinder with a flap disc or wire wheel to grind away loose rust, scale, and any flaking paint. You don't need to get back to bare bright metal — just remove anything that isn't firmly bonded to the surface. 

Step 2: Clean and Degrease

Wipe the repair area thoroughly with acetone or isopropyl alcohol. Any oil, grease, or moisture will prevent proper adhesion. Allow the surface to dry completely before proceeding.

Step 3: Size and Cut Your Patch
